Upcoming Events

We plan regular events including Friday Fieldtrips, Full Moon Paddles, and Camp and Paddles. These group outings are open to paddlers with their own kayaks and gear and to those who need to rent from us! Stay tuned for new event postings for Summer 2024!

Sunday May 12th- Spring Kick-Off Paddle

Mississippi River, Minneapolis- 1 PM

Kick off the season with a paddle down the Mississippi River from Brooklyn Park to Boom Island. Rentals available ($59) or join with your own kayak. You will need transportation at both ends. If you come with a friend, you can drop one vehicle at the end at carpool to the start. Or RSVP and we will all try to arrange cooperative shuttling and carpools. Trip is approx 8.5 miles, 3 hours with a stop at the Islands of Peace. To reserve a rental or RSVP email booking@twincitieskayaking.com

Thursday May 23rd- Full Moon Paddle at Lake Johanna

Lake Johanna, Arden Hills- 8 PM

Watch the sunset and the moonrise from the water. These paddles are so much fun. Bring a light for your kayak and a flashlight/headlamp to help you load up your gear at the end. Rentals available if you reserve ahead ($40), or join us with your own kayak (no charge).

Wednesday June 5th- Wednesday on the Water Kick-off

August 1-4th- Cuyuna Mine Pit Lakes Summer Trip

Our summer trip to the Cuyuna mine pit lakes will be August 1- 4th. We'll be planning some meeting times and locations each day for those who want to meet to paddle together, with some evening paddles and campfires too. Last year we also did a fun day-trip on the Mississippi. Stay tuned here for the latest itinerary.

Join us to paddle for an afternoon, for a day, or for the whole weekend! We will have a limited number of rentals available, so let us know in advance if you need to rent a kayak or paddleboard from us.

Please note that you will need to arrange your own overnight accommodations. We recommend getting reservations early, as weekends do book up in the Crosby area.

We will personally be staying at the Cuyuna State Recreation Area campground.

There are lots of other lodging options in the area. Let us know if you need ideas. In past years, some paddlers have stayed at private campgrounds like True North Basecamp, The Country Inn in Deerwood, or at family cabins or campers. There are also some boutique hotels in Crosby... or places within the recreation area where free dispersed camping is allowed, if roughing it is your thing.
