This will be our first Friday Fieldtrip of the year! Our Friday group trips are open to paddlers to come with their own gear (no charge) or contact us if you need to rent a kayak.
We will paddle the Rice Creek chain of lakes from Lake Peltier public access to Golden Lake Ln access, through George Watch, Marshan, Rice and Baldwin. The trip is about 6-7 miles and could take about 3 hours. Spring is the best time to do this trip, because the lakes get weedy later in the season.
We will meet at noon at Lake Peltier public access to drop our boats and gear. Then drivers will cooperate to shuttle some vehicles to the end at Golden Lake Ln. To participate in our cooperative shuttling, you should be prepared to give others a ride one way or another. We work it all out together when we get there.
Note that if it is a super windy day, we will opt to paddle on the creek starting at Golden Lake Ln instead. (It's no fun to fight the wind across those lakes!) So be sure to RSVP by email to stay in the loop. All trips are weather permitting. To RSVP with your own gear or to rent a kayak email us at booking@twincitieskayaking.com
June 2nd is National Mississippi River Day- a day to honor, protect, and connect with our nation's iconic waterway. To celebrate, we are getting out on the Mississippi for an evening paddle from Hidden Falls Regional Park to Lilydale Regional Park in St. Paul. Join us us to learn about the river's history, look for wildlife, and connect with the Mississippi. We will go around Pike Island at Fort Snelling State Park to the confluence of the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers, a sacred place that the Dakota call Bdote.
Trip is approximately 5 miles. Join us with your own kayak for no charge. Or rent a kayak from us with advance reservations. Discounted cost is $49 per person. We will meet early to arrange cooperative shuttling. RSVP to booking@twincitieskayaking.com.
All trips are weather permitting and subject to change. Be sure to RSVP by email for up-to-date info.
